Milli tola is the smallest unit of gold you can buy on PMEX — one-thousandth of a tola (0.011664 grams) — which is what lets Pakistanis start buying gold for a few hundred rupees instead of lakhs.

Gold in Pakistan is traditionally measured in tolas (1 tola = 11.664 grams). A whole tola of 24-karat gold costs over Rs 4 lakh, out of reach for a monthly saver. The milli tola breaks that single tola into 1,000 tiny pieces, so you can buy gold in step with your salary rather than waiting years to afford a full tola.

In Pakistan: the milli tola is the trading unit for gold on PMEX, the country's only SECP-regulated commodities exchange. The gold backing it is 999.0 fineness, held in an approved vault.

Example (PKR): if gold is Rs 435,000 per tola, one milli tola costs about Rs 435. Buy 100 milli tola and you own a tenth of a tola — roughly Rs 43,500 of gold.

Don't confuse it with: tola — the full unit (1,000 milli tola).
