PMEX (Pakistan Mercantile Exchange) is the only commodities exchange in Pakistan licensed and regulated by the SECP, where you can buy and hold gold, silver, and other commodities.

You don't deal with PMEX directly — you go through a PMEX-registered broker or app. It offers two kinds of gold: fully-paid gold held in an approved vault (what a saver wants), and leveraged futures (riskier trading). For a hedge, stick to fully-paid, vault-backed gold.

In Pakistan: PMEX is regulated by the SECP, so using a PMEX-registered broker is the single most important safety step when buying digital gold.

Example (PKR): you open an account with a PMEX broker, deposit Rs 10,000, and buy gold in milli tola units.

Don't confuse it with: the PSX (Pakistan Stock Exchange) — PMEX is for commodities like gold; PSX is for shares.
